The International Storytelling Festival in Sweden this past weekend was a wonderful gathering of people who came together to listen to, and share stories spanning many cultures and traditions.
It was a joy for me to be part of a small group of storytellers from different countries who gave performances and facilitated theatre and storytelling workshops that creatively inquired into questions such as: What makes us become more human? What opens and closes our hearts? What does it mean to live an authentic life?
Roi Gal-Or (co-carrier of the International School of Storytelling in England) and I performed a progamme of biographical and traditional stories, poetry and song about love, grief, death, loss, healing, our heart’s desire and the search for fulfilment. We were fortunate to be accompanied by the talented Swedish musician Charlotte Magnusson. Participants explored universal themes and shared stories from their own lives during the workshops using movement, storytelling, theatre and song.
The Festival was hosted and produced by Frans Koenigs and Nina Hallberg. For more information about the Festival - the other storytellers, performances and workshops click here.
