During the past three days I attended the Oral History Spring School hosted by the Institute of Historical Research. The Spring School was facilitated by leading UK oral historians and covered a wide range of topics including the ethics associated with conducting interviews, analysing and interpreting data, and the potential outputs and impact of life history research. The Spring School was very rich and thought provoking, and a highlight was a presentation by renowned oral historian, Professor Paul Thompson, about oral history approaches and practices around the world.
