I was recently invited by St Margaret's Girls School to facilitate a storytelling performance workshop for Year 8-12 students focussing on the theme of Endings and New Beginnings. I told the Inuit story Raven and the Whale, and the Native American Indian legend Jumping Mouse to explore the endings, changes and transitions the students are facing in their own lives, as well as the passions, interests and inner callings that they feel compelled to pursue. I always marvel at the way ancient stories, passed on from generation to generation, speak to us today, and can offer us a wealth of wisdom from which we can draw solace and inspiration.
